At Hurlford Tool Library, we are dedicated to providing the people of East Ayrshire with access to a wide range of tools for their DIY projects. Our aim is to help you save money and reduce landfill by offering a borrowing option instead of purchasing tools.

Borrow a wide range of tools for your projects, from power tools to hand tools and more.

Doing your home up, tidying up the garden or working on your car. We will do our best to sort you out with the tools you need.

DIY Workshops

Join our DIY workshops to learn new skills and techniques for your projects.

In the future, we will have workshops available, where you can learn skills such as wallpapering and basic tiling.

How does tool borrowing work?

You can borrow tools by becoming a member, memberships are £40 per year, or a £5 pound fee for a months membership. you can select the tools you need from our inventory. When you come along please bring two methods of identification ie passport, driving licence bus pass or a utility bill with your name and address. The Tool Library is based at Hurlford community centre, for picking up and dropping off of tools.

Opening hours are Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm all tools can be kept for a week, except for the lawnmowers, strimmers and blowers that have to be returned on Monday at an agreed time. Please go to hurlfordtoollibrary.myturn.com and open up an account, you will then see a variety of tools available.press the reserve button,then go to your cart and submit reserve. When you set up an account we Will send the bank transfer details to you for your membership fee. Thank for your interest in our tool library.

What types of tools do you have available?

We have a wide selection of power tools, hand tools, gardening tools, decorating tools, car tools and more available for borrowing. If you don't see what you require, let us know.

Do you offer any membership options?

Yes, we offer different membership options based on your circumstances. Please contact us, we are a community group, and we want to make sure no one is excluded from becoming a member.
